A Look At Maggie Gill’s Career

Margaret ‘Maggie’ Gill is the president and CEO of Memorial Health University Medical Center Inc. She joined Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) in 2004. Here, she served as the vice president of finance and managed care. In the following year, she was elevated to the position of the chief operating officer. In 2011, Gill was appointed to serve as the president and chief executive officer of Memorial Health. Gill controls vice presidents, senior vice presidents and physician leaders of the company. She is also in charge of physician relations, internal audit, government relations, orthopedic and neuroscience programs. In addition, Maggie Gill oversees Memorial Health University Physicians facilities management, corporate communications, trauma services, the Heart and Vascular Institute, financial assistance and perioperative services. Recently, MUMC partnered with Eon Health on a New Medicare Advantage Plan that has zero premiums and pharmacy benefits with less co-pays. Starting from January 1, 2017, this Medicare Advantage Plan option will benefit clients in Southeast Georgia and the South Carolina low country. Other advantages of the plan include hospital benefits, transportation, Silver Sneakers Fitness Program, hearing benefits allowance, dental, and member rewards programs. Moreover, there will be no referrals required to see an in-network provider. Maggie Gill said that Eon Health’s program is a perfect match for Memorial Health. She contended that she was looking forward to collaborating with the company to assist their patients achieve a healthy lifestyle and access quality health care. Eon Health Inc’s services are available in 68 counties in South Carolina and Georgia.
During the 16th Annual Health Care Heroes Awards of the Georgia Medical Society, Maggie Gill announced that Memorial Health team received seven awards. The awards recognize entities that seek to improve the health and well-being of the whole community of the world and the next generation. The Memorial Health won awards in different categories. They include health care innovation, health care education, community outreach, institutions and organizations, and physicians’ lifetime achievements.
Prior to joining MUMC, Maggie Gill served as the chief financial officer of Tenet South Florida Health System for five years. Due to her excellent performance at Tenet, she was awarded with the prestigious Tenet CFO award three times. While working for Tenet, she served in the subsidiaries of the company, which are Coral Gables Hospital, Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, and North Shore Medical Center in Miami. Maggie is an alumnus of the renowned Florida State University and the esteemed Saint Leo University in Florida. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree and MBA respectively. Gill enrolled at Wharton School where she completed her course in strategic thinking management.
