Bruce Bent II: Bent on Succeeding

Bruce Bent is a highly successful investor and financial guru based in New York. Which is not surprising because he is the son of Bruce R. Bent who practically invented the money market funds, also called money market mutual funds, way back in 1970. Therefore, you could say all things finance is in his blood. While growing up, he learned the ropes from his highly successful father and went on to become highly successful himself. He has successfully overseen short term asset management and cash related solutions for banks as well as retail markets.
Mr.Bent wears many hats and he is currently the CEO of the highly successful money market mutual fund enterprise known as The Reserve for the past 17 years. During the financial turmoil of 2008, he successfully oversaw the closing of some of the subsidiaries belonging to the Reserve. He is also the vice chairman of Double Rock Corporation and serves as a senior executive for six of its subsidiaries. The headquarters of the Reserve is in New York and it is still considered to be one of the largest companies of its kind.
When Bruce joined The Reserve, the company had roughly $4 billion in assets. Fast forward 17 years later, the company has nearly $130 billion in assets in all cash products. His other interest includes intellectual property, financial technologies, business consulting, pharmaceuticals and healthcare financing, to name a few. He is also quoted regularly in major publications such as the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. He graduated from North Eastern University with a Bachelors degree in Philosophy. He is a firm believer in networking with people and as a result became a member of the Young Presidents Organization, a peer-based network which connects nearly 10,000 young business leaders around the world.
