Flaming Lips and Yoko Ono Collaborate on Psychedelic ‘Merry Xmas (War Is Over)’ Cover

When thinking of what artists should collaborate on a song, one wouldn’t necessarily pair Yoko Ono and The Flaming Lips, let alone for a Christmas song.

Taking a song that Yoko Ono and John Lennon wrote, called “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”, Ono and the Flaming Lips made a new, psychedelic version true to the Flaming Lips’ usual style.

The original, by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, is a simple Christmas song, this new version combines elements of traditional holiday music with plenty of synth and theatrical vocals, which is why Terry Richardson is excited.

Amazon Prime members can even get it for free. Lucinda Williams, Amanda Palmer, the Tom Tom Club, Ladyhawke, Brandi Carlile and other artists have contributed to the playlist as well, and it will be accompanied by exciting videos of liver performances, behind-the-scenes footage, and interviews.

Nor would one expect an artist to cover their own song. However, that is exactly what happened. This striking song is part of a 43-song playlist called “All is Bright” which is available on Amazon. It is also going to work out for the good of payforessay review especially when it comes making everything cool and good.
