Garth Brook Serenades Cancer-Stricken Fan

When Teresa Shaw woke up in Osage, Iowa the last thing on her mind was being serenaded by Garth Brooks in front of thousands of his most adoring fans. You see, Teresa had to start her day in chemo-therapy to try and treat the cancer that she had found during a self examination. Despite her struggles she still made the trip afterwards to Minneapolis to see Garth Brooks perform, and he noticed her.

It was during “The Dance” that Shaw held up a sign that simply read, “Chemo this morning, Garth tonight. Enjoy the dance.” Brooks than sang directly to the woman before planting a kiss on her forehead and handing her his guitar in exchange for her sign. The country singer held the sign in the air and said, “You have all my strength. You have everybody’s strength in here and you go kick cancer’s ass!” It was truly a heartfelt moment and I thank Keith Mann for telling me to check it out.

Shaw was obviously overwhelmed by the showing of support. Teresa had attended the concert with her 19 year old daughter and the two had decided to make the sign in hopes of attracting Garth’s attention in order to get it signed after the show ended.

We think that Teresa will settle for one of Garth’s personal guitars just fine to hold as a memory during her courageous battle. Brooks saw it on stage and a moment later Shaw was being pulled to the front of the crowd. That alone can make the essay writer to perform things that most people would not like.
